OVERVIEW——ILG vertical centrifugal pumps

The ILG series vertical single-stage centrifugal pump is a high-efficiency, energy-saving product. It replaces traditional pumps like the SG, IS, and D types, offering flow rates from 1.5 to 1600 m³/h and heads from 5 to 150 m. The series includes various models, with materials and designs adjustable for different applications. It extends to the IRG, IHG, and YG pumps, making it versatile for multiple uses.

The ILG vertical single-stage centrifugal pumps have a wide range of applications and are widely used in the following fields:

– Industrial and urban water supply and drainage
– Water supply for high-rise building pressure boosting
– Garden irrigation
– Firefighting pressure boosting
– Long-distance water delivery
– Heating and air conditioning circulation

Easy Installation: The inlet and outlet diameters are the same and aligned on the same central line, eliminating the need to change the pipeline direction or redesign the pipeline.
Long Service Life: The pump operates smoothly with low noise and high component concentricity.
Excellent Sealing: The shaft seal uses wear-resistant materials such as hard alloy and silicon carbide for reliable, leak-free mechanical sealing.
Convenient Maintenance: Maintenance and repairs can be carried out without disassembling the pipeline—simply remove the pump cover nuts and take out the motor and transmission components.
Good Economy: The direct-coupled structure has a relatively low cost.
High Efficiency and Energy Saving: Equipped with a high-efficiency motor, the pump operates more efficiently and saves energy.

 

APPLICATION

1. ILG vertical single-stage Centrifugal Pumpsp: Designed for transporting clean water and other liquids with similar physical and chemical properties. It is suitable for industrial and urban water supply and drainage, high-rise building pressure boosting, garden irrigation, firefighting pressure boosting, long-distance water delivery, HVAC circulation, hot water circulation and pressure boosting in bathrooms, and equipment support. Operating temperature: T < 80°C.

2. IRG Vertical Hot Water (High-Temperature) Circulation Pump: Widely used in energy, metallurgy, chemical, textile, paper, and hotel boiler systems for high-temperature hot water pressure boosting and circulation, as well as in urban heating systems. The ILR model is suitable for use at temperatures T < 120°C.

3. IHG Vertical Pipeline Chemical Pump: Made of integrated stainless steel 304 (or 316, 316L) for transporting corrosive liquids (strong acids, strong bases) that are free of solid particles and have a viscosity similar to water. It is suitable for industries such as petroleum, chemicals, metallurgy, power, paper, food, pharmaceuticals, and synthetic fibers. Operating temperature: -20°C to 120°C.

4. YG Vertical Pipeline Oil Pump: Equipped with an explosion-proof motor with gas explosion-proof grades such as ExdIIBT4 and ExdIICT4. It is mainly used for transporting petroleum products such as gasoline, kerosene, and diesel. The medium being transported can be at temperatures ranging from -20°C to +120°C.

 

INSTALLATION

1. Pre-installation Check: Before vertical single-stage Centrifugal Pumps installation, inspect the unit to ensure all fasteners are tight, and check the pump body and flow passage for any obstructions that could damage the impeller or pump body during operation.

2. Pipeline Support: The weight of the pipeline should not be supported by the pump to avoid deformation of the pump.

3. Anchor Bolt Tightening: Ensure that the anchor bolts are securely tightened during installation to prevent vibrations that could affect pump performance during startup.

4. Valves and Pressure Gauge: For ease of maintenance and safe operation, install a regulating valve on both the inlet and outlet pipelines of the pump, and a pressure gauge near the pump outlet. This ensures the pump operates within the rated head and flow range, which helps to maintain normal operation and extend the pump’s service life.

5. Post-installation Check: After installation, manually rotate the pump shaft to ensure that the impeller rotates freely without friction or blockage. If any issues are detected, the pump should be disassembled to determine the cause.

6. Connection Types: The pump can be installed using either rigid or flexible coupling methods (refer to connection types for details).

 

START & STOP

Pre-startup Preparation

1. Check Motor Rotation: Test the vertical single-stage Centrifugal Pumps motor’s rotation direction by briefly running it. It should rotate clockwise when viewed from the top of the motor. The test should be brief to avoid dry running, which could damage the mechanical seal.

2. Air Venting: Open the air release valve to allow the liquid to fill the entire pump body. Close the air release valve once the pump is fully filled.

3. Inspection: Check all components of the vertical single-stage Centrifugal Pumps to ensure they are functioning normally.

4. Manual Rotation: Manually turn the pump shaft to allow the lubricant to reach the mechanical seal surfaces.

5. Preheating (for High-Temperature Pumps): Gradually preheat the high-temperature centrifugal pump at a rate of 50°C per hour to ensure even heating of all parts.

During Startup

1. Open Inlet Valve: Fully open the inlet valve.

2. Close Discharge Valve: Ensure the discharge pipeline valve is closed.

3. Start the Motor: Start the motor and observe the pump to ensure it is operating correctly.

4. Adjust Outlet Valve: Adjust the outlet valve to meet desired operating conditions. If a flow meter or pressure gauge is present, set the valve to ensure the pump operates at the rated point specified in the performance parameters. Monitor motor current to keep it within the rated limit. Overloading can damage the motor. The optimal valve position varies with pipeline conditions.

5. Check Seal Leakage: Observe the mechanical seal for any leakage. Normal leakage should be less than 3 drops per minute.

6. Check Motor and Bearing Temperature: Ensure the motor and bearings have a temperature rise ≤70°C.

During Shutdown

1. Cool Down (for High-Temperature Pumps): Gradually reduce the temperature at a rate of <10°C per minute until the temperature drops below 80°C before shutting down.

2. Close Discharge Valve: Close the discharge pipeline valve.

3. Stop the Motor: Turn off the motor.

4. Close Inlet Valve: Close the inlet valve.

5. Drain the Pump: If the pump will be out of service for an extended period, drain the liquid from the pump.

 

Maintenance During Operation

1. Ensure Full Liquid in Inlet Pipeline: The inlet pipeline must be fully filled with liquid. It is forbidden to run the pump under cavitation conditions for an extended period.

2. Monitor Motor Current: Regularly check the motor current. It should not exceed the rated current of the motor.

3. Noise and Vibration Check: After long-term operation, if noise and vibration increase due to mechanical wear, stop the pump for inspection. Replace worn parts and bearings as necessary. The recommended overhaul period for the unit is generally one year.

Mechanical Seal Maintenance

1. Clean Lubrication: Ensure that the lubricant for the mechanical seal is clean and free of solid particles.

2. Avoid Dry Running: It is strictly forbidden for the mechanical seal to operate under dry conditions.

3. Manual Rotation Before Startup: Before starting the pump, manually rotate the pump (motor) a few times to prevent sudden startup from causing damage, such as cracking of the sealing ring.

4. Seal Leakage Tolerance: The allowable leakage rate for the seal is up to 3 drops per minute. If the leakage exceeds this amount, an inspection should be conducted.
