OVERVIEW——NFPA standard EDJ dual power fire pump equipment

The EDJ Series Fire Diesel Electric Fire Pump Unit (Dual-Power Fire Pump System) by GEMA integrates an electric fire pump, a booster and pressure-regulating pump, a diesel fire pump, a pressure tank, and accompanying valves and pipelines on a single skid-mounted base. This pump unit provides excellent safety assurance for emergency firefighting. Additionally, the diesel engine features speed regulation capabilities, allowing for a wider range of applications and adjustments for the equipment.

APPLICATIONS

  • Comprehensive Commercial Complexes
  • Hospitals, Schools, Office Buildings
  • Industrial and Mining Enterprises
  • Large Warehouses
  • Fire Hydrant Systems
  • Sprinkler Systems
  • Spray Cooling Systems
  • Foam Systems
  • Water Cannon Systems

ADVANTAGES

  • Multiple Starting Methods: Equipped with comprehensive starting functions, including manual start, remote signal start, automatic start, automatic stop, and emergency manual start.
  • Dual Operating Assurance: In the event of a fire, if the electric pump fails or there is a power outage, the system will automatically activate the diesel fire pump to ensure continuous operation.
  • Automatic Operation on Fire Detection: When the pump unit receives a valid fire signal and if the electric pump cannot start due to power failure or fault, the diesel pump will automatically start. If the power is restored or the electric pump becomes operational, the system will automatically switch back to the electric pump.
  • Fire Signal Feedback: The system can send fire signals to the fire control room for remote monitoring and control.
  • Automatic Shutdown: The diesel fire pump will automatically delay shutdown when the fire signal is no longer present.
  • Self-Charging Voltage Regulation: The battery can be automatically charged from the main power, ensuring smooth operation of the unit.
  • Comprehensive Alarm and Protection System: Includes alarms for three start failures, overspeed, low oil pressure, low booster oil pressure, high coolant temperature, low oil temperature, charging device faults, low and high battery voltage, and low engine oil level.
  • Visual Display System: The control panel displays information such as engine oil pressure, engine speed, battery charging current, and battery charging voltage.
  • Integrated Structure: The diesel engine and pump are directly connected via a coupling on a common steel base. This compact structure results in better overall performance, fewer faults, low vibration, and easy on-site installation.
  • Low Construction Cost: Compared to traditional pump house construction with concrete foundations and piping, the EDJ fire pump unit requires only securing the common base and connecting the inlet and outlet pipelines, reducing overall project costs.
